Automechanika set for major debut

Automechanika Birmingham looks destined to become the largest debut exhibition outside of Germany for the organisers covering 21,000sqm of space to cater for the 550 exhibitors.

The new UK exhibition reflects the huge success generated by the original Automechanika event at the Frankfurt Messe, which has now expanded into exhibitions at 15 international locations, making it the most successful automotive trade show series globally. The UK version will become the largest Automechanika debut show in history outside of Frankfurt.

‘We are certainly on track to become the most successful automotive trade show here in the UK,’ said Simon Albert, event director, Automechanika Birmingham. ‘The response to the launch proves the need and demand for an automotive event of this type in the UK. Without question, it is destined to become the key home for both supply chain and aftermarket companies and visitors which no other event has been able to offer in the past.’

The organisers are working hard to make the exhibition a ‘must go’ for automotive visitors by instigating a full seminar programme supporting the wide range of companies exhibiting. Full details of the seminar programme will be announced over the coming weeks.

The exhibition is being organised in association with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). Mike Hawes, SMMT’s chief executive said, ‘The huge interest in Automechanika Birmingham demonstrates this is the right show, at the right time and in the right place, signalling the strength of the UK automotive industry.’

Automechanika Birmingham takes place at the Birmingham NEC on 7-9 June 2016.
