Ageas helps riders get back on the bike

Ageas has provided an automatic motorcycle to The Bike Experience charity, which teaches disabled motorcyclists how to ride again after an accident.

The insurer is supporting The Bike Experience charity by providing adapted and modified motorcycles. Participants are taught in a safe, controlled environment using a logical and progressive step-by-step process.

The charity was started by Paralympian and World Champion 600cc (paralysed category) Talan Skeels-Piggins in April 2011, after he was paralysed from the chest down following a motorcycle accident in March 2003.

In the past five years the charity has taught over 170 disabled motorcyclists how to ride again, free of charge. ASM Auto Recycling, one of the UK’s most modern and professional vehicle salvage agents and parts recyclers, which is part of Ageas’s supplier network, also supported this initiative by collecting, cleaning and detailing the bike prior to collection.

Rob Kushel, lead instructor at The Bike Experience, said, ‘I am delighted for the charity to have received the support from Ageas. We are very grateful and proud to add Ageas to the list of supporters who help us provide this life-changing service to those who need us.’
