TyreSafe appoints new vice chairman

TyreSafe has appointed Michael Bourne as vice chairman.
Michael has been a member of the TyreSafe steering committee member since its inception in 2006 and the organisation’s treasurer since 2010. With over 20 years’ experience in the tyre industry, he is group marketing director at Axle Group Holdings (incorporating National Tyre Service Ltd and Viking Wholesale Tyres) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
The appointment follows a period of intensification of activities for TyreSafe, bringing with it the need for further senior representation of the not-for-profit organisation. As it approaches its 10th anniversary year, TyreSafe now has nearly 100 members and supporters, and increasingly works in partnership with a growing number of road safety stakeholders.
Stuart Jackson was recently appointed as business development director, Northern Europe, at Bridgestone Europe, and continues to serve as TyreSafe’s chairman.
Stuart commented, ‘Mike’s unanimous selection by the TyreSafe steering committee reflects our respect for his knowledge, expertise and long-standing commitment to raising awareness of tyre safety among Britain’s motorists.’
