Thatcham unveils Methods Direct

Thatcham has unveiled its new Methods Direct application which, according to the company, will enable escribe customers to benefit from their fastest ever access to crash repair methods.

Methods Direct, which has been provided to Thatcham subscribers at no additional cost, is a new escribe feature designed to take subscribers from vehicle registration mark (VRM) to repair method in just two steps. What’s more, with the vehicle search being driven by VRM look up, users can remain totally assured that the methods exactly match the vehicle they are repairing.

Thatcham escribe subscribers now benefit from access to vehicle and repair data coverage, and when speed is of the essence, the quickest possible methods search and retrieval. The process is now as simple as entering the registration plate of the vehicle and selecting the damaged areas to generate vehicle and repair specific methods. Meanwhile, where it’s parts pricing or repair times that are required that’s all still available through escribe.

Speaking ahead of this week’s Auto Body Expo in Manchester, where the Methods Direct application will be launched, senior commercial manager at Thatcham Research, Matthew Wright, said, ‘We’re extremely proud of the depth and quantity of repair data that we provide, but we also recognise that sometimes repairers just want the correct method and quickly – Methods Direct has been designed to provide just that.’

Head of development, Daniel Payne, added, ‘Methods Direct is further tangible evidence of where Thatcham’s ongoing investment in systems and infrastructure is in turn enabling our customers’ businesses and helping them to achieve even greater efficiencies in repair.’
