STL announces new TEMPO development

Spraybooth Technology Limited (STL), a leading innovator in spraybooth design and manufacture, has announced the launch of a pioneering new development to its award winning TEMPO movable spraybooth to enable the finishing of traditional structural repairs as an extension of its highly-successful Express repair process. Combining both movable and static spraybooths in one run, the new generation TEMPO offers bodyshops a flexible, highly-efficient body repair solution. East Bilney Coachworks is installing a system comprising five movable bays and a single, static, side or front loading booth at its new, flagship King’s Lynn site.

According to East Bilney Coachworks director, Mark Baldwin, a key benefit of the advanced TEMPO system is that it will negate the need to triage jobs, enabling the company to complete sub-24 hour Express repairs and structural repairs in a single, highly-efficient operation.

Mark explained, ‘Since piloting the system in 2012, STL’s TEMPO spraybooth has been a big success for us.  STL has now taken the concept a step further with the launch of their new movable/static spraybooth solution.  Fortunately for us, the timing of the launch has coincided with our plans for the opening of our new King’s Lynn centre.  The result is we now have a cost-effective, versatile spraybooth system in place that meets our immediate needs and our long-terms goals.’

The TEMPO spraybooth is unique in that it allows cars to be repaired, painted and finished without the need to move the vehicle around the bodyshop.  In the case of the new movable/static configuration, vehicles undergoing structural repairs are located in the bay nearest the static booth and are simply pushed along on purpose-designed skates.  Both side and front loading options are available.

Kevin Dillon, STL’s sales director commented, ‘East Bilney Coachworks is an extremely progressive company and we enjoy working in partnership with Mark Baldwin to explore new innovations.’

‘Our latest TEMPO installation at the company’s King’s Lynn site  is a great example of how a highly-efficient repair operation can be even further improved by  taking a fresh look at existing technology and asking the question – ‘could we do things differently’?’

‘This new TEMPO launch is an exciting step forward for our industry.’
