PPG and Nationwide race ahead

PPG Refinish UK has announced a new joint sponsorship with Nationwide Accident Repair Services in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB 2015.

The new sponsorship will see a Nationwide and PPG branded Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car enter the 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup GB. The Porsche will be driven by 25 year old Daniel Cammish. Cammish is a British Racing Drivers Club (BRDC) SuperStar, one of only 12 this year and will compete for the overall title in his first full season in the latest type-991 911 GT3 Cup racer; Cammish is widely expected to be one of the major title contenders.

The 2013 British Formula Ford champion, Cammish will race for the Redline Racing team, the team that took Total 911 columnist, Josh Webster to the 2014 Carrera Cup GB championship in his debut year.

Dan Cammish, driver for Redline Racing said, ‘I am absolutely delighted to be racing in partnership with Nationwide Accident Repair Services and PPG, two highly respected brands in the automotive industry. I will be giving it my all this year to try and win the championship and I can’t wait to get started.’

The number 27 Porsche to be raced by Cammish features a dramatic new livery for the season, complete with Nationwide and PPG branding on the bonnet, roof and side of the car.

Michael Wilmshurst, CEO of Nationwide, said, ‘We are delighted to be competing again in the Porsche cup this year. We have won the championship in the past and know just how competitive the series is. We have a great team in Redline racing, and a great driver in Dan; it’s certainly going to be exciting. We are looking forward to welcoming our guests, partners and team as the series progresses.’

Gethyn Davies, PPG Refinish UK & Ireland market director commented, ‘The Porsche Carrera Cup GB has consistently delivered excellent race action and we are delighted to associate our brand with the prestigious Porsche Carrera Cup series in partnership with Nationwide Accident Repair Services. We look forward to seeing Dan in action showcasing our brand on track and wish him all the best for the season ahead.’

The Carrera Cup GB will run over 16 races and eight weekends, and continues to support the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) at seven circuits; beginning with the opening race at Brands Hatch on 4-5 April.
