New appointment at National Windscreens

National Windscreens has announced that it has strengthened its board of directors with the appointment of Barry Donaldson as business development director.

Barry joined the company in December 2013 to head up business development. This new position is recognition of the role he has played in supporting National Windscreens’ continued growth, which saw a 17% increase in turnover during the last financial year – achieving £109million.

The company works with many leading insurance providers and fleet operators who have all recognised the benefits of a customer focused business strategy that positions National Windscreens as a UK market leader.

Barry’s place on the board will enable him to contribute to the further development of the business as a whole, as well as strengthening the board with his extensive industry experience. Barry said, ‘I have worked in the windscreen repair and replacement industry for more than 32 years and look forward to using this experience in developing strategies that will continue our growth in market share.’

National Windscreens’ strategy involves an unwavering commitment to its 108-strong UK wide fitting centre network, which is supported by 800 mobile glazing technicians. The company carries out more than 600,000 jobs annually on all types of vehicles – from private motor cars, to HGV fleets and specialist vehicles including plant and agriculture.

Managing director, Pete Marsden commented, ‘These are incredibly exciting times for National Windscreens and we are ideally positioned to achieve our vision of becoming the UK’s leading automotive glazing supplier thanks to a clear sense of direction, backed by market leading customer service.’

‘We are delighted to welcome Barry to the board and we are looking forward to further raising awareness of our service proposition with the UK’s leading insurers and fleet operators.’
