Local charities urged to ‘click and claim’

EDAM Group has launched a new charitable website encouraging local charities to visit and apply for up to £50,000 of charitable funds.

The new ‘wheelsforgood’ website- launched this week- has upgraded  and streamlined its online service, making it simpler to use and easier for local charities to claim money.

wheelsforgood is a unique fundraising initiative – benefiting any charity related to wheels/ transport. For every invoice paid within 30 days the company will donate one per cent of the total amount to the fund.  This has the potential to reach around £500,000 per year.

Over the last two years the fund has been proud to help a number of different projects; WhizzKids- a  local charity that supports young people in wheelchairs across the UK, Powerchair Football  at Sale United,  and an international wheelchair dancing event at Wythenshawe Forum.

John Gilmore, Powerchair Football coach, Sale United said, ‘We’re so grateful that we were able to benefit from the EDAM group wheelsforgood funding. The process was so quick and easy and the new website will make it even more simple. I’d encourage any charity to visit the wheelsforgood website  and of course  I’d like to say a big thank-you on behalf of everyone at Sale United!‘

Steve Turner, managing director at EDAM commented, ‘..We are extremely proud of our charitable giving and we are committed to supporting the communities in which we work. We set up the new website to deal with current demand, and already this week we have seen a huge increase in traffic to the site. The money is waiting there to help any charity related to wheels/ transport so please visit www.wheelsforgood.com to apply for your share.’
