L&I Eaton adopts Ascribe

ACIS’ web-based Ascribe technology has been adopted into three L&I Eaton sites, with the remaining three sites scheduled to be implemented over the coming months.

L&I Eaton Accident Repair Centres has invested in Ascribe, the online stock management and ordering solution to manage both its paint and dry goods, and has already identified savings on purchases of consumables of around 15%. However, a main benefit is in the reduction of stock holding, whilst reducing the number of supplier deliveries to once per week.

L&I Eaton also uses the system to manage many of its other normal bodyshop suppliers. This has dramatically reduced the number of invoices and subsequent paperwork throughout the company’s supply chain. It is now looking to roll the solution across the rest of its repair centres.

Stephen Fells, operations director for L&I Eaton, commented, ‘We currently use Ascribe to completely manage our main suppliers through the parts departments. Our main stockholding is on paint and consumables purchased through Supertune Automotive Ltd, an ACIS distributor. The system has reduced the stock at each site and allowed us to operate with fewer deliveries. I am very confident that while the system is already providing cost savings, there is more that can be achieved.’

An element of the system L&I Eaton intends to maximise is Ascribe V1.2 which helps optimise individual operatives’ use of products.

Ian Dalgarno, ACIS national account director, said, ‘Since Ascribe’s introduction into some of our key accounts, and the subsequent evolution to V1.2, we are producing average savings of 20% on consumables being used in the bodyshop, and in some cases much more.’
