Karl Vella makes it six

The Karl Vella Group, based in Lancashire, has announced that after a year in development, its new site will be opening on the Deeside Industrial Estate in Flintshire.

Located ten minutes from Chester City Centre, this site will further expand the group’s coverage of the North West, creating a gateway into north Wales, Cheshire and the Wirral.

Owner and managing director, Karl Vella MBE said, ‘We have been looking for suitable sites in Cheshire and North Wales since early 2014, which would fit our new business model and allow us to continue to progress our strategic goals. We are delighted with the site we have found, it gives the size and the location we wanted. We couldn’t be happier.’
With contracts signed at the start of the year, refitting and refurbishing is underway and on track to be finished at the end of April.

Mike Sarsfield, operations director at The Karl Vella Group, worked closely with Spraybooth Technology on challenging conventional thinking on the processes employed to carry out a repair. He said, ‘I had been working on ideas which would reduce cycle time and increase bodyshop profits for some time. These ideas started to gain momentum in 2011 when I began collaborating with Kevin Dillon, sales director at Spraybooth Technology, working with them on how its technology could be implemented to deliver on those two key areas.

‘Originally this led us towards the concept that has become quite common now, a small unit working on the smaller scale repairs. However, on joining The Karl Vella Group in 2014, I wanted to take the knowledge gained from those earlier ideas, and apply this concept across a much broader range of repairs. The design of our new site will enable us to deliver this.’

3D rendering of the site has been carried out by Pure Visual Communication with the objective of making the site distinctive visually as well as operationally. The Karl Vella Group is continuing to work closely with the team at Pure on other soon to be announced projects.
