Covéa on road to Rio

Covéa Insurance is sponsoring Henley-based rower, Charles Cousins as he endeavours to make selection for the Rio 2016 Olympics.

The insurer has supported Charles by helping fund a new boat, to give his training a vital boost in this critical period and the company will also be offering on-going support as they follow his sporting journey.

The insurer is passionate about making a positive contribution to its local community and with the GB rowing team training just up the river from the company’s Reading office, it was a great opportunity to support local sporting talent.

Carol Geldard, marketing and communications director, commented, ‘We’re delighted to have the opportunity to support Charles with his preparations at such a critical time in his career and will be with him every step (or stroke!) of the way, as he prepares for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. We’re really hoping that our support can help Charles secure Gold too!’

Charles is a member of the prestigious Leander Club in Henley-on-Thames, as well as the Reading University Boat Club, and has collected medals in several World Championships to date and competed in the 2012 London Olympic Games, where his crew took fifth place in the men’s quadruple scull event.
