CLEPA Conference postponed over security

The seventh CLEPA Aftermarket Conference, set to take place in Brussels this week, has been postponed inline with the Belgian Federal Government’s advice.

With the continued level four (maximum security) situation in Brussels at present, CLEPA took the decision to postpone the conference until early 2016.

In a communication to registered participants, Paul Schockmel, CLEPA chief executive officer, said, ‘CLEPA takes the security of the participants and all the persons involved in the conference very seriously. This means that even though we would be ready to maintain the conference, we have been dissuaded to do so.

‘CLEPA has opted to relieve the participants from taking the decision on whether they should attend the CLEPA Aftermarket Conference at their personal risk.

‘Therefore, we have decided to postpone this great event and provide all those who intended to come, but cannot do it under the current exceptional circumstances, with the opportunity to attend.

‘Currently, we are assessing a new suitable date for the event and we will inform you accordingly.’

As a service to the participants, CLEPA has agreed to cancel all the bookings for the hotel rooms at the CLEPA rate in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, free of charge. Details of other administrative issues are set to follow.
