Autoglym receives charity award

Autoglym has been honoured with a special award for the work it does to support firefighters across the UK. The firm has been named the 2015 Corporate Supporter of the Year at the Fire Fighters Charity’s Spirit of Fire Awards.

Liverpool Football Club was amongst the businesses shortlisted for the gong.

Representatives from the business, including chief executive Paul Caller, picked up the accolade at a glitzy ceremony at the Westminster Park Plaza in London recently.

The Spirit of Fire Awards recognise bravery, determination and fundraising excellence throughout the fire service and The Fire Fighters Charity.

Autoglym has supported the charity’s signature event, the National Car Wash, for several years by providing shampoo for all participating stations.

Paul, who collected the award from BBC journalist Nicholas Owen, said: “This is fantastic event. Listening to the stories of bravery and triumph is truly inspiring. We are delighted to work with The Fire Fighters Charity and their National Car Wash each year.

‘It is brilliant that an Autoglym product can be put to such good use and raise thousands of pounds for a good cause.’

‘The work that the charity does is vital to the wellbeing and welfare of firefighters and their families.’

A spokesperson from The Fire Fighters Charity said, ‘This support helps to ensure that the charity can maximise the profit from the event and the impact of stations’ efforts. Without this generous donation the event would simply not be viable.’
