Allianz Global Assistance wins IMI award

Allianz Global Assistance UK technical training manager, Mike Donley, has been announced as the winner of the Outstanding Accredited Professional (technical) award at the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) Outstanding Achievers Awards 2015.

The awards which were held on the 22 October at Silverstone, focus on recognising the talent of those in the motor industry.

Mike Donley has worked for Allianz Global Assistance for over 19 years, after starting his career as a Roadside Technician, he worked up to the position of Technical Training Manager. He is recognised as an influential figure and positive role model at both Allianz Global Assistance, but also throughout the motor industry. This is as a result of the ongoing commitment he has made to the development of training for Light Commercial Vehicle Recovery and also his approach to sharing this knowledge with those in the industry and also providing voluntary lectures at Croydon College.

Being announced as the winner of the Outstanding Accredited Professional award, follows a number of career achievements for Mike, including completing the IMI’s Advanced Automotive Assessor Professional standards (AdAAP), which enabled him to act as a Master Assessor on behalf of the IMI when it was trialling the ATA Assessor Standards, and has led to others in the industry now being able to achieve IMI accreditation.

‘I am honoured to have been announced as the winner of the Outstanding Accredited Professional award. I really enjoy sharing what I have learnt with others, so we can continue to raise the bar in roadside assistance standards. The IMI plays a really important role in setting clear training programmes and creating qualifications. It is great to be a part of this,’ said Mike Donley, Allianz Global Assistance UK technical training manager.

Rob Lunt, deputy operations director for Allianz Global Assistance UK said, ‘This is another great achievement for Mike, and I am delighted that his continued outstanding work is recognised. Mike is innovative in his approach, and constantly strives to improve and continuously develop what we have in place, without compromising on industry standards. Mike encompasses all of our brand values at Allianz Global Assistance and is a credit to his team and the industry as a whole.’
