Ageas strengthens commercial lines team

Ageas has made three new appointments to its commercial team, a key component of a restructure designed to focus support in delivering the company’s organic growth plans.

Andrew Fletcher will join Ageas as commercial fleet trading manager, responsible for growing the fleet account, as a key strategic product line for Ageas’s commercial proposition. Andrew joins Ageas from Endsleigh where he is currently portfolio manager.

Beth Shaw will join as commercial underwriting manager – north. Beth will be responsible for driving the development and trading of open market manual business for the north. Beth joins from Zurich where she spent 15 years in various underwriting roles.

Allison Hughes will also transfer from Ageas’s distribution team to take on the role of commercial digital trading manager responsible for delivering a key part of the company’s commercial lines growth strategy by developing its digital trading capability for its SME products.

The three new personnel will report to Cathy Taylor, head of commercial underwriting and operations. All the changes will be effective from 1 June 2015. The restructure is designed to provide brokers with the personal touch approach Ageas is known for, backed-up with award-winning service and agility to place non-standard business.

Cathy Taylor, head of commercial underwriting and operations said, ‘I’m looking forward to working with Andrew, Beth and Allison to deliver against the targets for organic growth in the UK Commercial lines market, with a particular focus on the SME and fleet sector. Expanding the digital team means we can respond promptly to broker enquiries to save them time, money and to increase their revenue stream. We are open for business and have some innovative plans to deliver in the future.’
