ACIS gains Volvo certificate

Ian Dalgarno, national account director for ACIS, has received a Volvo safe repair certificate following his attendance at Volvo’s technical update course held at its training and development centre in Daventry, Northamptonshire.

Training content of the course covers safety systems, materials used (types of metal and plastics), bumper repairs with specific focus upon radar locations, windscreen technology, pedestrian, driver and passenger airbags, city safety, collision avoidance systems and hybrid technology.

Ian, who received the Volvo certificate for successful completion of the modules, said, ‘This is a very intensive one-day programme from a company that has safety at the heart of its DNA. It is important that the bodyshop industry is up to speed on the latest technical and technology developments so that they can repair vehicles safely.’

Steve Plunkett, Volvo body and paint programme development manager said, ‘These courses have been very successful during the past two years and have been developed specifically to give our supply partners and the wider industry an insight into the complexity and importance of correct repair methods and processes being used during the repair process.’
